A couple weeks back I had the pleasure of going through the warehouse at Field Scout and picking out some styles, grabbing some models and taking to the streets for an impromptu photo shoot somewhere in Santa Monica. The day was invariably cut short but the half-day shoot yielded some fun results that captures the line. Based on utilitarian simplicity and layering ,Field Scout derives each seasonal line from a particular geographic region of the world. Most of the clothes in the line are Field Scout but there was a bit of necessary mix and match to accommodate my models. One of which we grabbed off the street...a model I mean.
Taking time to experiment with some new gear, 95% of this shoot was shot with top of the line Fuji X Series cameras. Most notably the Fuji X100 (review of the X100 here) and the XPro1 (long term review coming soon). I went into this shoot wanting the final product to portray the old days of film with some color fringing and an "against the sun" magenta feel. My goal here was to blend the old and the new while maintaining a level of class and fun, a style I believe is embodied Field Scout brand and in those that wear the line.
